Anambra community PG writes hoodlums who set his house ablaze


*As CP Itam deploys X-Squad

The hoodlums who set the country home of the President-General of Mbosi community Hon. Azuka Innocent Okolie in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State are now in trouble as the President General has vowed to fish them out to face the consequences of the actions against his community.

This is coming as the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam has deployed X-Squad operatives led by CSP Emeka Chukwuemeka former PPRO of the State Command for patrol and charges them as well as Compliant response unit and control room operatives on timely response.

Same hoodlums may have been responsible for burning down the house of the incumbent federal lawmaker representing Ihiala Federal Constituency Rt. Hon. Dr. Paschal Arinzechukwu Agbodike also in Mbosi community. 

They have burnt and maimed so many others ,hence the PG is insisting it’s time to pay for the mayhem and their atrocities against his community.

He penned down his pains which he sent to some prominent personalities across Anambra and beyond including the National President of the Anambra State Association of Town Unions (ASATU), Chief Barr. Titus Nnabuike Akpudo and security operatives.

He wrote:” The Senseless Perpetrators of Violences in Mbosi, Ihiala LGA, has set my house on fire last night at about 11;35 pm

“The cowardly attack on my house, setting it ablaze, marks the end of your reign of terror. I vow to ensure that the law catches up with you, and you will face the full weight of justice for your destructive actions. Your crimes will not go unpunished, and you will be held accountable for the harm and suffering you’ve caused to innocent people.

“Your time of recklessness is over. You have been wreaking havoc, and resistance to the authorities, including violence. Your actions have consequences, and it’s time to face them.

“To the relevant authorities, I call on you to take immediate action and bring these perpetrators to justice. It’s time to put an end to their reign of terror and ensure that they are held accountable for their actions.

“To those responsible for the attack,  I promise that you will not go free. The law will catch up with you, and you will face the consequences of your actions. Your time is up, and justice will be served on you!.” 

The PG Mbosi informed that his house was attacked at about 12 midnight on 21st December, 2024 and completely burnt down to ashes without anything left for him and his family. 

Mr. Okolie swore that those responsible for the evil act will never go scot-free because he will do everything humanly possible to ensure that they were captured and brought to book. 

But, the Commissioner of Police CP Nnaghe Obono Itam according to the SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Police Command has directed the deployment of Operatives of X Squad of the Command to ensure police personnel at various checkpoints, uphold a high standard of professionalism in the discharge of their duties and shun any acts of extortion, harassment, and unruly behaviour, especially towards the travelling public.

The Police team led by Chief Superintendent of Police CSP Emeka Chukwuemeka, the Former Police Public Relations Officer of the Command is to complement the already deployed personnel to maintain law and order and is specially tasked to patrol and ensure operatives comply with the standard operational procedure of the Force. Also the Public Complaint Bureau likewise Complaint Response Unit are to be active 24/7 to attend to the security request of Ndi Anambra

The CP notes that every resident or visitor to Anambra State deserves to be treated decently in line with the policing principles of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM* and urges members of the public to promptly report erring officers to the Command for appropriate sanction.

The Police PPRO encouraged the Public to call 112, the Control Room number 07039194332, X Squad Commander on 08033294280 or PPRO on 08039334002. Also call the various Area Commands and DPOs in your area of Concern, please for a quick response, please.
As at the time of this report , the Anambra State Police Command is yet to respond to the situation even as the PPRO Tony Ikenga’ phone couldn’t go through.
