The New Crystal Communication Limited has donated food items and safety equipment to the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) to cushion effect of coronavirus on the poor and vulnerable people.
During the donation to FCT Administration on Thursday, Engr Dozie Mbanefo said the coronavirus pandemic effect on the economy was not going down well with poor people.
He urged private organisations to continue to support FCT Administration’s effort in the fight against coronavirus pandemic.
Mbanefo said winning the battle against COVID-19 needs concerted efforts of all stakeholders.
Mbanefo said the government was doing well in providing support for residents, but needed to be appreciated through support.
He explained that, “We are here to donate the food item to support COVID-19 palliative for the vulnerables. We have notice that the Federal Capital Territory Administration has been doing very well in trying to support the needy here in Abuja. This make us to bring in some support to help in what the government is doing.
“The items we have come to donate include five hundred cartoons of noodles, 200 bags of 10 kg rice.The donation is to support FCT Administration’s effort in providing relief for the residents” he said.
He said the company has started the manufacturing of face mask for free distribution to all FCT residents.
“We can still come out of the COVID-19 better and more united, let’s fight for our city and the world in general. For the good of everyone let’s support FCT Administration so that we will overcome the challenge”.
Recieving the item, profprofessor Muhammad Usman, senior special assistant to FCT minister of state on administration and Strategy, Commended the private sector for taking over the mantle of support to assist the administration carter for the needs of residents.
He said the effort shows that the company is in full support of FCT progress.
Usman called on the MD to be there for FCT Administration even after the COVID-19, to assist in rebuilding the economy.
