The entire Kano kingdom on Tuesday praised God as Sarkin Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero escaped death with other Nigerians at Malam Aminu Kano Interantional Airport (MAKIA).
The Emir of Kano who is the life Chairman of Kano Council of Emirs, was billed to travel to Abuja by Max Air aircraft mid-afternoon Tuesday.
The AUTHORITY gathered that many air passengers, including the Emir of Kano, escaped death by whiskers, Abuja bound Max Air aircraft, developed engine fault, few minutes after take-off from MAKIA.
The Max Air aircraft marked VM1645 which was slated for take-off at 1.30 P M delayed for about 30 minutes.
The aircraft took off around 2 P.M with all passengers on board.
“Signals had shown that the coast was clear,” an impeccable source told The AUTHORITY.
However, a top security source at the airport comfirmed to The AUTHORITY that, “10 minutes after the take-off, the aircraft began to swerve around the air until it made a detour for an emergency landing.”
A reliable source from the Emir’s Palace told our Correspondent that, “what you heard is true. We thank God for his mercies and miracles. The most important thing is that no life was lost. Sarkin Kano is in good condition. No cause for alarm.”
The AUTHORITY reports that Emir Aminu Ado Bayero, who recently lost his mother, performed all the religious cum traditional rituals that heralded the just concluded Eid-el-Fitr.
He has also been receiving sympathizers from all works of life, including the immediate-past Governor of Kano state, Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso.
Efforts made to reach the managements of Max Air and the FAAN at MAKIA, proved abortive.
