Nnamani chairs book launch on Buhari phenomenon

Former President of the Senate, Sen Ken Nnamani on Monday chaired the launch and presentation of a book titled, ‘Integrity vs Power play: Understanding the Buhari phenomenon written by Philip Agbese.

Speaking at the occasion which also served as the third anniversary celebration of the Nigerian News in Abuja, Seen Nnamani who was represented by Senator Jonathan Zwiingina, commended the efforts of the author and the organizers on it’s efforts at changing the Nigerian narratives from the negative and combative prisms to positive narratives.

He highlighted the importance of the book especially to people who see leaders as though they all had silver spoons. He stated that such books make it imperative for people to know the history and struggles of their leaders before they attain certain heights. He noted that it will inspire readers to work hard, be disciplined and focused rather than looking at leaders as though they inherited their feats.

Speaking earlier while welcoming guests to the event, the chief host and former minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Sam Odey disclosed that the philosophy to portray Nigeria and it’s leaders was hatched some three years ago in London.

He further revealed that the event had always held outside Nigeria but in 2019 which marked it’s third anniversary. He observed the need for that positive narratives insisting it was time to change the narrative in telling the Nigerian story.

In his remarks, the author, Philip Agbese said president Muhammad Buhari’s courage and philosophy cannot be overlooked and needs to be highlighted and documented for posterity insisting that he is an inspiration.

While reviewing the book, the erudite proof Udenta Udenta acknowledged that he was at a loss why he was chosen as a book reviewer on a subject matter that he is always critical. He described the book as inspiring and phenomenal.

He noted that the book points at the philosophy of the president, his Goodwill over the years and governance style. He stated that the president’s effort may come to be appreciated after his administration and perhaps, several years after as is the case with some American former president’s.

He described President Muhammad Buhari’s as a courageous, patient and disciplined who would always be punctual at any event he wished to attend.
