A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Abia State, Barrister Kingsley C. Ugobaja has assured its members that soon, the party will take over the State, as well as the entire South East, considering its wave of acceptance and dominance across the country.
Barrister Ugbaja who gave the assurance in an occasion to welcome Hon. Emeka Atuma, who recently defected from the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to the All Progressives Congress in the State and Chief Chinedu Kanu, explained that no matter what the Peoples Democratic Party will do come 2023, it will fail because according to him, PDP has become a total failure and an embarrassment to every one.
He expressed delight in Hon. Emeka Atuma who was a former member of the House of Representatives in 2007, saying that the people of Ikwuano where he hails from remained proud of him for what he did while at the House, adding that before his defection to the APC, Hon. Emeka Atuma was the National Organizing Secretary of the SDP, but has decided to pitch his tent with the rulling party for the betterment of Ikwuano LGA, Abia State and Nigeria.
He regretted that Abia State has remained backward because the leaders are not doing what they are supposed to do, wondering why the State Governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has refused to conduct Local Government election so that those in the rural areas can reap the dividend of democracy.
Continuing, Barrister Ugobaja who was the Director General for Uche Ogah Campaign Organization, accused the Abia State Government of diverting Local Government allocations thereby hindering development in the rural areas, and called for the desolution of the Caretaker Committees of the seventeen local council areas which was set up in the state, arguing that such is illegal.
