From Austine Tule, Makurdi
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman in Benue, Mr John Ngbede has expressed happiness over the peaceful conduct of ward congresses of the party held at the weekend in the state.
Ngbede made his feelings known in an interview with newsmen in Makurdi.
The chairman said that consensus agreements were reached in most local governments in the state concerning councillorship aspirants.
He, however, said that there were disagreements over consensus agreements in Oju and Ushongo Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state.
“Others are Apa, Kwande, Konshisha and Makurdi LGAs respectively.
“The party leadership would address the disagreements for peace and development of the party,” he said.
He lamented that some people were using the name of the party officials to intimidate the electorate, emphasizing that they did not send anybody to do so.
