The Isreali government has indicated interest in partnering with the Nigerian government to win the war against Terrorism.
The Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Shimeon Ben-Shoshan, said this when he visited the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai at the Army headquarters on Tuesday in Abuja.
He acknowledged the gallantry of Nigerian Army troops in the fight against Boko Haram terrorism in the North East.
He assured Buratai that the Israeli Government will partner and offer necessary military assistance to the Army, so as effectively fight insurgents, bandits and other criminals.
Welcoming the Ambassador, the COAS solicited military cooperation from the Israeli Government to help prosecute the war against insurgency and other crimes perpetrated by criminal elements in the country.
He said the Nigerian Army is willing to partner the Israeli Government to improve the capacity of its officers and men on cyber intelligence, and other key areas of military supports.
The Army Chief, lauded Israel for nurturing and sustaining the long-standing relationship in diverse of areas of bilateral cooperation with Nigeria, for over sixty years, pledging the support of the Nigerian Army to the Ambassador, and his country’s government.
