Paramount Ruler of the Tiv nation, Orcivirigh Prof James Ortese Iorzua Ayatse has placed a curse on the youths who take to killing elders in Tyoshin, Gwer West over frivolous claims that they caused the death of some people as revealed to them by the diviners they consulted.
The Tor Tiv who warned the youths that they lack powers to take such rash decisions on behalf of the entire elders in any community in Tiv land noted that his reign shall not tolerate the situation where the youths connive and hijack roles that are hitherto the exclusive rights of elders and traditional Rulers.
The Begha u Tiv who was speaking in Naka, the headquarters of Tyoshin, as part of his tour of Tiv land challenged the youths to channel their strength to defend their land which is almost ravaged by the enemy.
Orcivirigh Ayatse reiterated his call on Tiv people to embrace the true God by uniting among themselves so that God can prosper the land.
He assured the people that the decision of Ijirtamen to constitute Ayatutu Kase Foundation is for the interest of the entire Tiv nation to address the menace of unemployment, poverty and boost the economy of the land.
The paramount stressed the need for the Church, traditional Institutions, Elders and the political leaders to unite irrespective of the belief and affiliation to tackle the criminal tendencies that have taken over Tiv nation.
Speaking earlier, Tor Gwer, Chief Julius Aondona pledged the maximum cooperation of Gwer with the Tor Tiv to enable him execute his agenda encapsulated in Ayatutu Kase Foundation to take Tiv land to great heights.
In his remarks, Ter Tyoshin, Chief Ayua Abomtse, applauded the lofty achievements recorded by the Tor Tiv within three years which has enforced Tiv unity and oneness, political emancipation and promotion of welfare for Tiv people.
Chief Abomtse who disclosed that his subjects have so far contributed over four million naira to the coffers of Ayatutu Kase Foundation further called on Tyoshin business men and women as well as elites to ensure they contributed for the future of their children.
The Ter Tyoshin appealed to the Federal Government to provide a Military Garrison at Abian and Anguhar to wade off invaders into Gwer West land as well as encourage Operation Whirl Stroke personnel at Kula and Agagbe to continue to protect lives and property.
He further noted that the Technical Committee on Domestication of National Livestock Transformation Plan and development of Benue Livestock Transformation Plan 20219-2028 in Benue state shall suffer set back, saying, ” for any meaningful implementation of the plan, the question of humanitarian relief and safe return of displaced persons back to their ancestral homes, rebuilding of ravaged communities, payment of adequate compensation to victims must be prioritized”.
