COVID 19: Pray, Vigilant, Comply and Not more than 50 persons – Bishop Manza

As Christians world over, set to celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ amidst the speed Corona Virus worldwide the Catholic Bishop of Yola diocese, Bishop Dami Manza has called for Prayer, Vigilance and compliance in the struggles for curtailing the further spread of the disease.

The Bishop stated this in a press statement made available to newsmen today said “as a Church in Adamawa State, we shall continue to comply fully with the directives of the state authorities in curbing the spread of the Virus”.

He urged Christians to cooperate maximally with the relevant Government agencies in their efforts and measures towards the welfare of our people in the face of this killer disease.

“Considering the importance of Holy Week and Easter in the history of our faith and in order not have without any Liturgical activity we encourage smaller units of congregational assemblies of 50 people only for the Holy Week ceremonies and Easter Sunday Masses and Services.”

He called on Leaders, Heads of Churches, Bishops, Priests and Pastors in the state to ensure that this directive is strictly adhered to.

While encouraging Faithfuls are to continue with private devotions in their respective homes added that
If Masses and Services must be conducted in a Church, he recommend that besides the social distance that soap, running water, hand sanitizers should be provided at every Church entrance.
