Senator Mao Ohuabunwa has urged Christians in the country and the world at large not to allow the fear of the deadly coronavirus pandemic to becloud the joy of Christ’s resurrection which Easter represents.
The former Speaker, ECOWAS Parliament who stated this in his Easter goodwill message declared that coronavirus which today looks like the big stone placed at the tomb of Jesus by Roman soldiers, will soon be rolled away by the force of resurrection.
He urged Christians not to despair but repose confidence in God who has power over nature and all circumstances, expressing faith that the agony of coronavirus will soon be history
Senator Ohuabunwa who noted with concern the devastating effect of the pandemic on countries all over the world, urged Christians to use this Easter season to seek divine intervention.
He further appealed to Christians to remember the vulnerable ones in society who are already broke as a result of the lockdown announced by governments as part of the strategies to stem the spread of the pandemic.
Ohuabunwa also called on Christians to use this season to reflect on the mission of Jesus Christ, and prepare for the “great ressurection morning when both the dead in Him and the living shall be raptured to be with him eternally”.
He equally urged Christians to use the Easter season to evangelise their vicinity and share the message of Christ’s death and resurrection.
Ohuabunwa wished Christians particularly in Abia North a happy Easter celebration.
