2023 Election: Gov Uzodinma is after my life, I need help – Rep Uju

A member of the House of Representatives from Imo State, Kingsley Uju, has alleged that his life has been threatened by the Governor of Imo state Hope Uzodinma.

According to the lawmaker during a press briefing with Journalist in Abuja, he alleged that his life and that of his family members were been threatened prior, during and after the just concluded election in his state.

Uju called on the Inspector General of Police to interveine on the matter after he has been attacked three times on different occasion prior and after the election by thugs and unkown gunmen in the state.

He also alleged that security personnels of the Nigerian Police were been used by the state government to intimidate and harrase him in his home.

He further claimed that result of his election which he won was changed and a different result uploaded to the INEC server.

He therefore demanded cancellation of the election in his constituency, saying the process was full of irregularities.

The lawmaker representing Ohaji-Egbema, Oguta and Oru West federal constituency, also accused the State government under Senator Hope Uzodinma as being behind the result manipulations.

“Elections did not hold in some wards within my constituency, and so no results should be accepted from the areas.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should be causioned of persons been recruited as Ad hoc staff for the elections.

” I suffered attacks in my home town, where I luckily escaped alive. There is a commander of a special team of the Nigeria Police, one inspector Chika Akwabata who has been used by the state government to intimidate my supporters.

“I appeal to the Inspector General of Police to help stop the intimidation of my supporters. I also want the police to investigate those who led the operations that was targeted against me on Friday”, he said.
