FG reappoints Akabueze as Director General, Budget Office

President Muhammadu Buhari has renewed the appointment of Mr. Benjamin Akabueze as the Director-General (DG) of the Budget Office of the Federation.

Mr. Akabueze, was first appointed as a Special Adviser Planning (SAP) to the President on February 15th, 2016 and later re-deployed and appointed as DG Budget, June 10th, 2016 by the President, to handle the issues in the Budget office at that time.

The reappointment was announced in a statement signed by the president’s aide, Yunusa Tanko Abdullah and would take effect from June 11th, 2020, a day after the expiry of the current tenure.

It is instructive to note that the nation’s Budget Office is currently undergoing several reforms under Akabueze’s leadership, aimed at improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the Budget.

Akabueze’s sterling performance and achievements informed President Buhari’s approval of a renewed tenure to institutionalise his achievements for a sustainable improves Budget Office of the Federation.
