As part of efforts geared towards re – positioning and strengthening the All Progressives Congress[APC], Enugu state chapter, to win future elections in the state, a 10-member ‘Contact and Mobilization Committee’ was yesterday inaugurated at the state office of the party,located at Chief Jim Nwobodo avenue,GRA Enugu.
The 10-member committee is headed by Comrade A.C.Ude, the pioneer state deputy chairman of the party,who is currently the Enugu state coordinator of PMB Solidarity Movement.Other members include Chief Mrs Queen Nwankwo, the pioneer state woman leader,Hon Evaristus Asadu, the pioneer state secretary of the party,Hon Tony Ibekwe, among others.
The state chairman of the party,Chief Ben Nwoye said the inauguration of the committee is necessitated from the fact that the party in the state has once more become united and have to srtategize on ways of selecting good candidates who can win future elections for deliverance of good governance in the state.
He expressed gratitude to the Foreign affairs Minister,Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, Chief Ken Nnamani and many other stakeholders of the party from Enugu state, for the roles they played in restoring unity in Enugu state chapter of the party.
Chief Nwoye stated, ‘ Today,We have one APC in Enugu state from the wards to the state level.It is part of the efforts to create one indivisible party that is capable of winning elections.We have resolved our differences.We have one common goal and that is to deliver good governance to our people’.
‘We have done all that the national leadership of the party required us to do and today we have one party in Enugu state.The minister of foreign affairs is aware of our resolve. Senator Ken Nnamani,who is currently the Chairman,South East reconciliation committee is also aware,So also our major financier,Chief Baywood Ibe was briefed and Senator Ayogu Eze. Brigadier General J.O.J Okoloagu[rtd], Barrister Mrs Juliet Ibekaku, among others are all desirous of one APC family in Enugu state and are aware of the present unity of the party in the state’.
Answering questions on the composition of the committee from news men thereafter, Chief Nwoye said that the 10-member committee comprising of six men and four women were party loyalists with proven integrity. He described the chairman of the committee,Comrade A.C. Ude, as having been a great asset to the party in Enugu state..
In his acceptance speech on behalf of other members, the chairman of the committee,Comrade A.C. Ude assured that the committee will work vividly to re-awaken the interest of the electorates in the party, in all the wards across the 17 local government areas of the state.
