2023: Ex Anambra First Lady, Ebele Obiano, declares for Senate

The immediate past first lady of Anambra State, Ebele Obiano, on Wednesday declared her intention to represent Anambra North senatorial zone at the red chamber of the National Assembly come 2023.

Mrs Obiano made the declaration during an interactive session with journalists in Awka.
She said that her desire to contest the senatorial election was a response to the call by well meaning persons to represent the zone.


“As has been attested by the good people of Anambra State, service to people, humanity and sharing love and putting smiles on thesad faces are my priority in life, and I know that it is the will of God.


“Therefore, having witnessed and being positively touched by my ever willing disposition to care for people, empower the poor and needy, especially women and children, particularly widows, orphans and the destitute, my people decided that I should come and serve them in that capacity.” She noted.


The former first lady while commenting on the altercations between her and Amb. Bianca Ojukwu pointed out that the incident which happened during the inauguration ceremony of the successor of her husband, Prof Charles Soludo was unnecessary and unfortunate.


She apologized to the Anambra State new governor, his family, the people of the state and the entire Ndigbo over the unfortunate altercations even as she appreciated the well persons who have called to offer wise counsel immediately after the incident.


Mrs Obiano said that she would never do anything to undermine the new governor who she described as a towering intellectual who has the capacity to build on her husband’s achievements.
