Skills Acquisition: Aisha Bala commissions centre, empowers 60 youths

The Wife of the Bauchi State Governor, Dr. Aisha Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed last week commissioned Almuhibbah Empowerment Development Institute at Ibrahim Bako Housing Estate and also empowered sixty youths on various skills acquisition
Dr Aisha said the gesture was borne out of desire to assist and reduce poverty among people in the society, especially the less privilege.

She said that the event was different in the sense that the centre will provide certificates to beneficiaries and have access to Central Bank Loans, et cetera.
” I hope the newly established skills acquisition centre in Bauchi, will provide an avenue for women and youth to develop their potentials and contribute to the economic growth of the state and the country at large,” she said.

Major takeaway of the event was the distribution of motorcycle helmets to two hundred non-commercial motorcyclists in the state by the first lady, as part of her effort to ensure safety of the motorcycle riders while on the major roads across the state.

In her welcome address the Director Al-muhibbah Foundation Hajiya Ladi Ibrahim says the empowerment is aimed at reducing hardship and given means of survival to beneficiaries,
“It also strengthen the vulnerable household and business to be financial independent, when poverty is reduce it eradicate crime and felt infant mortality,” she added.

In his address during the distribution the State Commandant Federal Road Safety Corps, (FRSC) Yusuf Ibrahim applauded the first lady for the wonderful initiative which can assist the motorcycle riders in the state towards safety precautions and reduce casualties in the event of accidents.

Highlights of the event where the handover of empowerment kits to beneficiaries which includes cash donation of N25,000, shoe making kits, barbing plumbing and carpentry instruments among others.
