From Austine Tule, Makurdi
Ahead of the 2023 Presidential elections, a group under the aegies of Bola Ahmed Tinubu Solidarity Vanguard has been launched in Benue state with a charge on members to launder the image of the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in such a way that he will emerged victorious at the party’s presidential primaries and the 2023 presidential elections.
Giving the charge at the inaugural meeting of the solidarity group in Makurdi , its chairman, Engr Conrad Terhide Utaan, said Tinubu’s tall credentials need to be sold to the people of Benue state who are eager to support a person who has sacrificed all he has for the party and the nation at large.
Utaan used the occasion to dismiss the notion that the removal of Adams Oshomhole as the national chairman of the APC by top echelon of the party would affect Tinubu’s rating by the Nigerian public, insisting that Ahmed Bola Tinubu would continue to stand tall among his equals even if another person becomes the national chairman.
He said the 36 state chapters of the movement have unanimously agreed that Tinubu has all it takes to take Nigeria to a higher level in 2023, hence the need for the Benue state chapter to embark on a serious membership drive in all the 23 local government areas.
The former aspirant for the House of Representatives seat for Makurdi/Guma federal constituency noted that a state office for the group would soon be inaugurated with a functional media department.
According to him, the group would market Tinubu with the conviction that he would make a good president in 2023.
Engr Utaan maintained that the group was already preparing for Tinubu’s nomination at the party’s primaries, adding that the mass movement would be like that of MKO Abiola and President Mohammadu Buhari whose credentials were not contested by any person of good character standing.
High point of the occasion was the unanimous agreement by members that the local government chapters of the solidarity movement should be inaugurated without delay.
