Independence anniversary: Guards Brigade alerts public on firing of artillery guns

The Headquarters Guards Brigade, Nigeria Army has alerted residents of the Federal Capital Territory, particularly those in Asokoro, Three Arms Zone and its environs of simulated firing of artillery guns during Nigeria’s 60th Independence Day Anniversary Parade scheduled for 1st October 2020 at Eagle Square, Abuja.

Captain Innocent Oche Audu, Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations, in a press release said the 21 Gun Salute is part of ceremonial activities for the anniversary.

He urged people in affected areas not to panic at the sound of simulated firing of artillery guns during the parade.
