As the All Progressives Congress (APC) concludes its screening of candidates ahead of the upcoming FCT Area Council elections, a support group has given reasons why their preferred candidate, Hon. Tanko Ishaku Yamawo should be supported to fly the party’s ticket for the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC)
The group, which was led by Hon. Muazu Labo, told journalists at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja that residents must get it right at this time as AMAC needs a leader like Yamawo who he described as a loyal Party man who has the capacity to win the election for the APC
Labo maintained that Yamawo had remained steadfast with the APC despite contesting and loosing the chairmanship position three times
Labo, who described Yamawo as a grassroot politician said he has maintained close contact with his people, adding that with his vast experience in local government administration, AMAC residents would enjoy the best of him, if he picks the APC ticket
“We know Yamawo is very good and loyal member of the party. He has been contesting for this position and lost on three different occasions, coming either second or third. Yet he didn’t leave the party for not winning the ticket. Rather he continued to support the party to ensure it won the last local councilelection. And today, he has come out again.
“We want the party leadership to recognize someone who has been a loyal party member who has been in the party from inception helping the party to win election in his terrain.”
