The Emir of Bichi, Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero, on Friday turbaned Alhaji Ismail Umar Ganduje, elder brother to Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, as the District Head of Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area.
Bichi is along the four new Emirates recently carved out from Kano Emirate.
He was turbaned at the palace of the Emir of Bichi, located in the heart of the historical Bichi town.
Alhaji Ismail Umar Umar Ganduje who stepped into the shoes of the late District Head of Dawakin Tofa, Alhaji Abdullahi Maikano, was also bestowed with the title of Magajin Masarautar Bichi.
Before his elevation, Alhaji Ismail Ganduje was the Ward Head (Dagachin Ganduje) in Dawakin Tofa.
Speaking after the turbaning ceremony, the Emir of Bichi,.Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero, noted that, the installation of the new monarch of Dawakin Tofa, was done through due process, as he was the only person in the best position to climb the highest traditional stool on Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area.
According to the Emir, Alhaji Ismail Umar Ganduje was also considered following his track records in the area of service to the state and humanity, coupled with his philanthropic gestures and sterling leadership qualities.
Among the dignitaries who graced the occasion include Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje; Secretary to Kano State Government (SSG); Alhaji Usman Alhaji; Chairman of Kano chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Abdullahi Abbas; Governor Ganduje’s associate, Senator Abubakar Gada; Chief of staff, Hon. Ali Haruna Makoda; Commissioners and other head of government agencies and departments, among others.
