Anambra 2021: APC aspirants battle to beat dateline

… Chidozie Nwankwo,  Onyejegbu,  Okoye, Okonkwo,  Uba return forms

As submission of expression of interest and  nomination forms for the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC), ahead of the November 6 governorship election in Anambra State ends this week,  aspirants besieged the party’s national secretariat in Abuja on Monday to beat the dateline to return their completed forms.

About 13 aspirants picked the APC expression of interest form to seek the party’s ticket
At the APC secretariat yesterday to return their forms included Colonel Geoffrey Onyejegbu Rtd, Comrade Maxwell Okoye, Rev. Godwin Okonkwo and Chidoka Nwankwo and Senator Andy Uba.

Nwankwo who spoke to journalists moments after returning his form,  boasted that he has the capacity to unseat any candidate from the incumbent All Progressives Grand Alliance  (APGA).

Okonkwo who stormed the APC  secretariat with stakeholders from all the 21 local government areas of the state stated, “My reputation in Anambra state having being the head of the biggest markets in onitsha, because onitsha controls all the elites that are the decision makers in all the 177 communities. ” I have been a leader in Onitsha main market for 10 years. Within the 10 years of my reign, I brought a change that cannot be erased in 100 years going forward. I have been in the market and our popularity is indescribable. The legacy I left when I was the leader of the main market supersede any influence APGA has in Anambra state”.

“Can I be honest with you. There have been absolute peace in Anambra state.  Until a good leader gets to power. There will be a drastic change towards that agitation. If you read my manifesto, I am going to single Anambra out to become the industrial hub of Africa. And, millions of teaming youths will not have time to demonstrate when they are employed. I have done businesses in 7 countries of the world. I have been to Isreal about three times, I have been to Ethiopia with outstanding agricultural records. We are going to employ the best brains. In all my companies, I have always partner with the best companies in the world. Why people failed in agriculture is because they dont look for those with the pedigree. People with the records and experience to manage their entities. And that is why they failed.why you do bring revolution to that direction in Agriculture?”

On the rumours that the APC could settle for a concensus candidate for the election,  the former market leader noted that he would abide by what ever mode the party deems better to pick a strong candidate that could win the election for APC.

“The party knows the rules and regulations. And I will want the party itself to decide the model or template to use to manage the coming primary
“I am a catalyst throughout my life. I have always brought change to whatever I do. My records shows that every field of human endeavors I have always engaged myself I have brought changes not only in Nigeria but across the world”.
