Dafinone was officially declared winner by the APC electoral committee after polling 116,252 votes to defeat his opponent, Ovie Omo-Agege, who scored 3,643 votes.

The electoral committee announced that Dafinone satisfied all party requirements and secured the highest number of valid votes cast in the primary election.

The declaration sparked celebrations at the collation centre as party supporters, delegates and political associates hailed the outcome of the exercise, which party leaders described as peaceful, transparent, free and fair.

Speaking shortly after his victory, Senator Dafinone thanked party members, delegates and leaders of the APC across Delta Central for their overwhelming support and confidence in his leadership.

He described the victory as a collective mandate for the continued growth of the party in the district and pledged to sustain quality representation and attract more developmental projects to the people of Delta Central.

The senator also extended an olive branch to Senator Omo-Agege, calling for unity among party faithful ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to him, all members of the APC in Delta Central must work together to ensure victory for the party in the next general election.
