The Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, on Thursday, emerged the candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) for the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra State.

This is as he expressed optimism that he would win the November 6th gubernatorial elections in the state.

Speaking to newsmen after obtaining his clearance certificate the Senator thanked the party and his supporters for being there for noting that his entrance into governorship is to provide the needed leadership for Ndi Anambra.

Ubah, who was cleared by the YPP national leadership in Abuja, reacting to the spate of insecurity in the South Eat noted that everything would soon return to normal just as he allayed the fears of Nigerians that the South-East crisis would disrupt the election coming up in November this year.

Ubah said the current insecurity in the region would not affect the conduct of the polls and that his party would emerge victorious and it did in the last elections for the Senate.

Reacting to allegations that his party was behind the crisis rocking the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and the People’s Democratic Party Senator Ubah said his party was not behind the crisis rocking the parties contrary to insinuations in some quarters.

According to him “ we are optimistic of victory in November just like we did in the last elections when nobody gave us a chance. We are ready to re-enact that winning streak once again because my people love me and a grassroots person.
