The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed over 28,000 personnel nationwide to ensure a peaceful Eid-el-Kabir celebration. According to NSCDC Commandant General (CG), Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, the deployment is part of his determination to protect critical national assets, infrastructure, and lives.
According to a press statement from CSC Afolabi Babawale the Public Relations Officer NSCDC Headquarters Abuja, over 28,000 operatives from various units, including Intelligence Directorate, Special Female Squad, and SWAT, will be deployed across the federation.
The NSCDC is tackling insurgency, banditry, kidnapping, illegal bunkering, vandalism, and farmer-herder clashes.
The CG emphasized the need for effective cooperation, collaboration, and coordination among security agencies to defeat unfriendly forces.
The NSCDC calls on the public to support its efforts to ensure effective security coverage.
The CG tasked private security operators to uphold security tenets and provide prompt intelligence gathering and information networking.
He extended felicitations to the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria and the diaspora on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, calling on them to pray for peace, stability, and development of the nation.
The NSCDC CG held a strategic security meeting with Corps’ Top Management, State Commandants, and Heads of Formations, charging them on improved intelligence gathering techniques through community engagement.
