The newly chairman, Mrs Alaba Botoye, on assumption of duty, charged intending procurement agents on the need for training and certification.
She noted that the institute since inception in 1998 had remained committed to the pursuit of enhancing professional proficiency and has also impacted positively on the procurement sector of the nation’s economy.
According to the chairman, the institute has over the years enhanced service delivery via knowledge based orientation on procurement policies.
She said: “Established in 1998 under degree 1 of 1990, part c, CIPSMN was charged with the responsibility of training, regulation and certification for intending Procurement Professionals in Nigeria”
Commending the body for a successful election which enthroned the new executives of the state’s chapter, Botoye said that her administration will strive towards sustaining the core madate of the institute.
The new Rivers CIPSMN boss onbehalf of the new executives thanked the body for the opportunity to serve, promised to uphold the principles of career ethics and deligence in the discharge of their duties.
“It is our desire to work towards effective implementation of our program contents which are basically initiated to educate proffesionals on the intricacies of our national procurement policies inline with global standard,’ she added.
The newly inaugurated excos of CIPSMN, are Mrs Alaba Botoye – (Chairman), Bamson Tamunene – (Vice Chairman), Oliver Ege -(Treasurer), Tamunotonye Hart – ?Secretary),- Mrs Chioma Agu – (Financial Secretary), Anulika Ugboma – (Asst. Secretary) and Ikechukwu Okogbuo as (Auditor).
