The new Commissioner of Police for FCT command, Babaji Sunday said the command has arrested eight suspected criminals in different locations across the territory.
During the CP’s maiden press briefing, he revealed that, acting on credible intelligence, Police operatives from Bwari Division arrested one Usman Abdullahi 37 years and Sanusi Adamu 30 years both male, who are residents of Mpape and Masaka rat Shere axis a boundary between Mpape and Bwari.
He called on criminals perpetrating crimes within the nation’s capital to hands off, or face the full wrath of the law.
Sunday said some of the items recovered from them include one Locally Fabricated pistol, one car recovered and six bags of Indian hemp.
He added that the suspects who confessed to the crime were arrested while vandalising AEDC high tension aluminium cables.
” Preliminary investigation revealed that, they belong to the syndicate suspected to be sabotaging the effort of the FCT administration to provide electricity for FCT residents along Shere-Bwari axis. Effort is in top gear to arrest other members of the syndicate at large”, he explained.
The Commissioner also disclosed that, on the 9th of August, 2021, during a routine patrol, operatives of the Command’s Anti-violent Crime section arrested one Justice Ezeogu ‘m’ 36 years with six bags of dried leaves suspected to be marijuana along Nyanya axis of the FCT.
He hinted that, the suspect have also confessed to be a merchant of Indian hemp and will be handed over to NDLEA for further investigation.
