APC crisis: Buni committee yet to reconcile members in many states, says Uche Nwosu

As crisis continues to rage in the ;leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), chieftain of the party in Imo state, Uche Nwosu has charged Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee to ensure that it actualizes its major task of reconciling aggrieved members in the states.

Nwosu, who noted that the primary assignment given to the Committee was to reconcile the aggrieved members in some states, regretted that this assignment has been abdicated by the Committee.

The former governorship candidate of Action Alliance (AA) in 2019, who had alao served as Chief of Staff to former Imo state Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha, spoke with some journalists at the weekend in Abuja noted that  the APC has remain in factions and crisis in, Imo, Rivers, Ogun, Zamfara, Kwara and some other states, adding that none has been resolved by Caretaker Committee with few months left in its mandate

He stated that he was looking forward to an APC National Leadership that would put an end to the crisis in Imo State.

“Yes, the Caretaker Committee has stayed longer than expected but the President, Muhammadu Buhari, our leader in his wisdom knows why he has kept them for this long to handle some issues in the party. But l am not happy that up till now they have not been able to handle the crisis in most of the states. Like Rivers, Imo, Kwara, Ogun, Zamfara and so many other states. That was the most important assignment given to them by the President.

“The President categorically said that the Caretaker Committee should come and handle the crisis in the states. Unfortunately the Caretaker Committee has not been able to do this, the crises are still there. I am happy that after the meeting of the governors of APC, they said that the Caretaker Committee should go ahead and conduct Convention immediately so that we can have people who are party executives, whose job is entirely to handle these issues.”

Specifically speaking on the crisis in Imo and how to resolve it, He said, “The Imo State APC crisis is resolvable.

“There is nothing that cannot be resolved by the special grace of God. I thought that the party leadership would have called a meeting between His Excellency Hope Uzodinma, Imo State governor, former governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha and Senator Ifeanyi Ararume and sit them down as brothers in a round table and resolve this problem but the party has not done that. The leadership is shying away from doing their jobs as the leaders of the party. They have not even asked a proper question of what is the problem here, they have not done that and they are getting to a year and six months since they were inaugurated. I am not sure that the leadership of the party wants to do that and for me we should wait for the National Working Committee (NWC) that would come in. This current leadership, l am not sure they want to resolve the problems in Imo State and some other states with party problems.”
