Be focused, hardworking, DG-NYSC tells Corps Members

The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier-General Shuaibu Ibrahim, has advised the 2021 Batch ‘B’ Stream 2 Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) to be focused and remain hardworking so as to achieve a prosperous future.

Ibrahim, who gave the advice at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Nonwa-Gbam, Tai, in Rivers State, further enjoined the them to be humble and avoid living a lifestyle propelled by ego, pretenses and self-deceit.

He told them to take advantage of the vast opportunities provided through the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme for self-employment and wealth creation.

The DG reminded the PCMs that their potentials are huge and limitless, and warned them to shun acts capable of putting them in the harm’s way and truncating their journey to success.
Ibrahim stressed that the oath of allegiance to be administered on them would be binding, adding that they “must propagate the virtues of patriotism, discipline, hard work, unity and integration of Nigeria at all times as championed by the Scheme”.

He warned the PCMs against unauthorised journeys and to be security conscious at all times, so as not to put themselves in harm’s way. He further admonished them to use the social media to promote our unity and understanding.
The DG was accompanied on the visit by the Ag. Director, Special Duties, Alhaji Musa Abubakar.
