Marwa , Others for Zik Merit Award

Chairman and Chief executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement  Agency (NDLEA) Brigadier General Mohammed Marwa (Rtd) and the minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amechi are among prominent Nigeriansi to be honoured for the prestigious Ziks  merit award of Excellence in Leadership by the Igbo Nsuka United Front.


The award ceremony which is to be chaired by his eminence, Alhaji Yahaya Abubukar , the Esu Nupe , with former president Good luck Ebele Jonathan and vice president Yemi Osibanjo as  special guest of honours is to hold Tuesday November 16th.
In a statement  yesterday in Abuja by the Director  General ( DG)  Igbo Nsuka United Front, Hon Chineme Onyeke and made available to newsmen said the award was in recognition of outstanding and remarkable contributions of the receipents  to Nigerians political economy..


It further explained that the NDELA boss was nominated for the Zik’s merit  award based on his track record  and his contribution towards the  eradication of hard drugs and  substances use  in the country, describing him as an administrator per excellence and astute politicians .
According to the statement, the award is conceptualized   and designed to honour and preserve the legacies of Nigerians first president, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe.

The statement reads in parts ” We the National Executive Council (NEC ) , board of trustees (BOT) and members of Igbo Nsuka United Forum respectfully nominate you for an award  among other eminent Nigerians at our 2nd Igbo Nsuka Zik’s merit award  organised in honour of Rt. Hon Dr. Benjamin Nnamdi Azikiwe, GCFR with the theme  ” Preserving Zik’s legacies for national unity”.


According to Hon. Onyeka Chineme, Director General of the Group, this year is the second episode that would improve on the previous year and progress from there saying that it is an annual ritual to honour and remember great late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe. High Chief Dr. Okorie Amaechi Sadiq, National President of National Coalition Against Insecurity (NACAI), a member of the Planning Committee, the legendary Zik was a Pan-African and notable World figure which legacies would not be just swept aside but should be brought to the fore fore posterity.
