Chinese President Xi Jinping inspected preparations for the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games on Tuesday, with the opening of the Winter Olympics only 30 days away.
Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, visited the National Speed Skating Oval, Main Media Center, Athletes’ Village, Games-time Operations Command Center and a winter sports training base, learning about preparatory work for the Games as well as Chinese athletes’ preparations.
He also extended New Year greetings to athletes, coaches, volunteers and representatives of operation teams, the media and scientific research staff.

The Beijing Winter Olympics will take place from February 4 to 20, followed by the Paralympic Winter Games from March 4 to 13.
Beijing, the host city of the 2008 Summer Olympics, is set to become the first city to host both the summer and winter editions of the Olympic Games.
This is the fifth time that Xi has inspected preparations for the Beijing Winter Olympics, following his tours in January and February 2017, February 2019 and January 2021.
