…Commends governor Yahaya Bello, Ajaokuta LG boss for their timely intervention
A Non Governmental Organization, Concerned People of Ajaokuta, has called on the Federal Ministry of Transport and the management of the Federal Railway Cooperation to beef up security around the train station in Ajaokuta Kogi state.
In a statement signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the group, Raimi Okekenu and Mohammed Ismaila respectively, said there is need to clear the environment and as well tar the road leading to the station.
The group however commended the Kogi state government and the Ajaokuta Local Government Chairman for deploying security, comprising military personnels and vigilantes to the station after the unfortunate attack recently.
“We commend the efforts of Governor Yahaya Bello and the Ajaokuta Local Government Chairman, Hon Mustapha Aka’aba for being proactive.
“The deployment of military and vigilantes to the area has boost confidence in the passengers and others who do business around the station.
“We however appealed to the minister of Transport and the management of the Railway Cooperation to urgently tar the road leading to the station. That’s what is obtainable in all other stations across the country.
They promised to continue to work with both the state and the federal government to ensure smooth operation of the station, saying that asides the passengers who uses the train station, there people whose daily survival depends on the station.
