I Still Engage In Philanthropy With My New Blog WahalaNetwork’– Kristen Dawodu

The founder and CEO of WahalaNetwork blog, Oluwafemi Oluwagbemiga Dawodu has responded to critics who claimed that those who engaged in philanthropy on social media are attention seekers.

According to him: ” Not all of those who channel philanthropy through social media are attention seekers. The truth is it’s all about realness. While philanthropy creates more awareness and attention, still social media is a place occupied by humans so the act of helping through such a medium isn’t about attention-seeking but about how you care about others.”

He insisted that “the bigger picture is to help those who have problems with funds since we are all aware of the rising cost of living in the country and the continent.”

Continuing, the WahalaNetwork boss, otherwise known as Kristen Dawodu, who first achieved prominence through his Instagram charities,  confirmed that he is still involved in philanthropy. “I just don’t post them anymore, ” he affirmed.

Justifying his previous use of Instagram for philanthropic ends, Dawodu rationalised:
“By channelling my philanthropic activities via social media, I was seeking more attention, which was not bad in itself because it encouraged new people to seek my help.”

The serial entrepreneur who migrated to the United States in 2015 also spoke about the turnaround moment of his life in America. He said: “When I was in Nigeria I didn’t know how to work or do anything; but when I got to the United States, I started doing things myself. And it has helped me a lot.”

After founding a record label and investing in real estate on both sides of the Atlantic, Dawodu, who studied Business Education at Tai Solarin University, founded the WahalaNetwork blog in August of 2021.
Just as it was with his earlier enterprises, the entertainment-focused blog, according to him, is onto a flying start. “Our website,

www.wahalanetworkblog.com attracts good traffic daily. Similarly, our social media, @wahalanetwork on Instagram and @wahalanetworkB on Twitter record many engagements,” he averred.
