As the 2023 General elections activities heats up in the country,, Nigerians, especially politicians and public commentators have been cautioned to guard against divisive and inflammatory messages that are capable of further heating up the polity and derailing the seamless democratic process.
This was advise and position of a retired diplomat and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State, Ambassador Ejike Simon Eze,
Ambassador Eze, who is aspiring for the Enugu North senatorial seat on the platform of the APC made this appeal on Wednesday in Abuja, stating that the Federal Government has demonstrated more than enough commitment to a seamless conduct of the 2023 general elections. He therefore urged politicians, their agents, cronies and other interested commentators to be circumspect in their utterances and dispositions in the run up to the elections.
Ambassador Eze cautioned those who are beating drums of war and instigating violent crisis across the country to have a rethink knowing that they do not have another country they can call their own, and therefore must join hands with the Federal Government in ensuring that our dear country remains one strong, united and progressive nation.
According to him, what is important is that we must continue to promote justice, equity and fairness among the diverse ethnic, religious and political groups in the country.
