Ndudi Elumelu: Spotlight on Nigeria’s legislative Maestro

Every follower of Nigeria’s parliamentary politics since the return of the country to democracy must have heard of the indelible footprints of the lawmaker representing Aniocha north/ Aniocha south/ oshimili federal constituency The Rt. Hon Godwin Ndudi Elumelu, Current Minority leader of the Federal House of Representatives.

The lawmaker who has chaired the committees on health and power since his debut in the lower legislative chamber in 2007 has not only succeeded in carving a niche for himself in the league of lawmakers who have had the privilege of representing there people in the National Assembly but has delivered the dividends of democracy via the provision of basic amenities so as to better the lives of his constituents.

Life touching is the electrification of over 10 communities, construction of skills acquisitions centers, regular training of the youths of his constituency, construction of erosion control tunnels, Procurement of vehicles for Security agencies within his constituency and organizing capacity building programs for women.

Hon Elumelu through his zonal intervention programs has constructed hundreds of classrooms, civic centers, purchased speed boats, provided agricultural inputs and grants, and embarked on the construction of kilometers of Asphalted roads earning him commendations from his State Governor.

The list of Elumelu’s live saving interventions in his constituency cannot be exhausted even as his interventions on several national issues will continue to remain fresh in our minds particularly during the power sector probe where the committee under his chairmanship was reputed to have done a diligent job that has remained a reference point till date.

As Hon Elumelu Continues to Bestrode the political landscape of the country like a colossus that he is we can only pray that his tribe continue to multiply for the benefit of Nigerians and our ever growing democracy.
