The Cooperative National Hygiene Initiative has sensitised some Schools across the country on the need to improve on their hygiene practices.
Addressing the students in select schools in Abuja and Lagos, a health expert Mrs Folake Gboyelade counselled them On how menstrual episode can be managed.
While some of the female students were given sanitary pads as part of the cooperative bodies goal in assisting the less privileged in the society.
On her part, Oluwaseyi Akande, one of the Directors explained that the initiative would go a long way in helping not only the teenagers but communities.
Students of the both schools expressed appreciation for the vital lessons on hygiene and their well being.
The Initiative which is created by the Cooperative Support Services (COOPSUPPORT) and the Cooperative Rating and Award Society of Nigeria (CRASON) is a Cooperate Social Responsibility of the body.
According to the groups, over 10 million people in Nigeria are being targeted in the next decade with the expectations that more sponsors.
However, the president/ Chief Executive Officer of the cooperative, Victor Oyegoke stressed the need to promote personal hygiene amongst teenagers in Schools.
