*As Obi sympathises with victims of flood disaster, Beirut Road Building collapse
The revered royal father spoke when Obi visited him in his palace in Kano when he expressed appreciation to the candidate for having respect for culture.The Emir said the country is blessed with resources and wondered why there’s suffering, poverty and crime.
He said he believed that Obi is eminently qualified for the position as he earlier did as Anambra State Governor.
He wished Peter Obi well in the pursuit of his ambition.Obi on his part told the emir he was at his palace to pay homage and to sympathize with the Kano Flood Victims as well as Beirut Road Building CollapseThe former Anambra State Governor, who said he has been exposed to various areas of governance for years, noted that he is experienced to lead Nigeria.
While he told the Emir he is in the state for sympathy visit, Obi said he deemed it appropriate to make the Palace his first port of call.The visit to the palace, Peter Obi explained, is to pay Royal Homage to the revered Emir and also to formally inform him of his intention to run for presidency in the coming election
He said he is also in the State to sympathize with him as a Royal Father over the twin tragedy that befell the state penultimate week.Peter Obi was accompanied by Kano State Gubernatorial Candidate of Labour Party Engr. Bashir Ishaq Bashir, his running mate Dr. Datti Yusuf Baba Ahmed, Dr Yunusa Tanko and State Chairman of Labour party Raji.
