62nd Independence Anniversary, ACCI President Calls for Friendly Business Policies

As Nigeria celebrates the 62nd Independence Day anniversary, the President, Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Dr. Al-Mujtaba Abubakar called for friendly business policies that would transform the SME sector for greater economic development.

Dr Abubakar, while congratulating Nigerians on behalf of the Executive Council and management of ACCI on 62nd Independence anniversary, urged the government at all levels to find lasting solutions to the SME sector’s many challenges, adding that if the sector is vibrant, the Nigeria economy will grow.

“What we need is to put policies in place that will help the SME sector that is bedevilled with so many challenges such as multiple taxations, lack of infrastructure, poor access to funding, other.”

He urged that as we are getting set for the general elections scheduled for 2023, those vying for elective positions should set agenda that will be beneficial to the business community.

As a foremost chamber of commerce, we are passionate about the growth and development of the SME sector as the engine of the economy. We enjoined the government to do what it takes to help the sector to be able to compete favourably with SME in developed world .”

Dr. Abubakar prayed for unity and a peaceful Nigeria, where ease of doing business will be fostered.
