The Winner of the 10th edition of Mrs Africa United Nations pageant, Queen Evelyn Chigozie has launched a joint initiative and value-driven humanitarian Project, SDGs Family and Business Showcase,
Addressing newsmen in Abuja on Thursday, Queen Evelyn, the convener of the SDGs Family and Business Showcase stated that the objective of the initiative is to improve on Nigeria’s response to UN SDGs,
According to her, Nigeria’s SDG Data shows that 83 million Nigerians which represent 40% of its total population live in poverty, out of which 70.3% are children. “This is a dent on our country’s drive to achieve the SDG goal one, seeking No Poverty,” she said.
She therefore called on bold, beautiful and handsome Nigerians to join the SDGs Showcase 2022 and stand a chance to win mouth-watering prizes, explaining that all participants will be empowered to become UN SDGs Ambassadors.
She said, “As Mrs Africa United Nations, I am deeply pained with the rate of hunger, agony, poverty, underdevelopment and chaos ravaging Africa. More so, I am shocked to discover that Nigeria is ranked 139/163 with a 54.23% score on the 2022 world’s SDGs index. This fueled my quest to liberate Africa from the clutches of underdevelopment
“We present to the world, the SDGs FAMILY & BUSINESS SHOWCASE, a joint initiative and value-driven humanitarian project of Mrs. Africa United Nations, Queen Evelyn and UNAU Diamonds Pageant that combines a unique blend of SDGs, Pageantry, Entertainment and Humanitarian as an effective tool for promoting and domesticating the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Mobilizing Supports, Enhancing Social Entrepreneurial Skills, Connecting participants with business linkage opportunities and access to grants to make lasting impact in their community and beyond to achieve our target for 1,000 Youths, Women and Girls as beneficiaries for Cash and Kind over an 8-year period of 2022 to 2030 from the proceeds of the SDGs Showcase.
“The SDGs Showcase therefore seeks to enhance SDGs achievement to boost child rights, namely access to school, healthcare, reduced malnutrition, and safe water, including girl child education, saying no to pornography, molestation rape, reduce maternal mortality and women empowerment among others.

Mrs Africa United Nations said the showcase is a platform where families, businesses and the government can demonstrate their passion for nation-building, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, while accessing the apparatus and strategic linkage to opportunities among cross-sectors, to achieve the said objectives, in an enabling business and entertainment environment.

She also called on stakeholders, government at all levels, United Nations Systems in Nigeria, Governor’s wives, development partners, donor agencies, MDAs, embassies, corporate bodies, Banks, promoters and concerned Nigerians to join hands and support the initiative to liberate Africa from the clutches of underdevelopment through the SDGs Showcase.
