2023:I Have A Dream

By Abdullahi Yusuf

To dream of something is to cherish it; to look forward to it and to aspire to it.According to the Oxford Dictionary, dream is a series of thoughts, images and sensations occurring in a person’s mind during sleep.

People, including my humble self,dream of so many good things in life,and realise them after genuine efforts, patience, perseverance and supplications to Almighty God.

Dreams of any kind are usually rooted, informed or influenced by a person’s socio-economic and political life which gives him or her some thoughts and wishes with which to fall asleep and see their images therein.

One of the most dominant dreams in today’s Nigeria are political dreams,understandably because we are in a democracy which is characterized by campaigns,rallies and elections.

As the campaigns and rallies progress towards the 2023 general elections, the political actors whom include candidates,party members,supporters and voters are already beginning to dream positions and situations which will be produced by the forthcoming polls.

As one of those involved, I have a Dream – that Nigeria will witness free,fair and hitch-free elections,come February 25, 2023 and March 11, 2023;

That the nation will overcome its current security challenges such as kidnapping, banditry, armed robbery and thuggery, and eventually experience a peaceful conduct of the elections;

I also have a Dream that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,the Jagaban of Borgu, and APC Presidential Candidate, and His Running Mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, will Insha Allah be elected as the next President and Vice President of Nigeria on February 25,2023, alongside all the party’s candidates for the Senate and House of Representatives;

That Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawauna,the APC Governorship Candidate in Kano State and his Running Mate, Hon.Murtala Sule Garo, will insha Allah be elected by the people of the state on March 11, 2023,to succeed His Excellency Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, in the next dispensation;

That all the elections will be won by the APC at first ballot, without any run-off or inconclusive process;

I also have a Dream that the APC Standard Flagbearer, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,His Running Mate,Senator Kashim Shettima, will be sworn in as President and Vice President of Nigeria on May 29,2023;

That all the APC candidates will win their Senatorial and House of Representatives elections and be sworn in and inaugurated as members of the next National Assembly;

That Dr.Nasiru Gawuna and Hon.Murtala Sule Garo will be sworn in as the next Governor and Deputy Governor of Kano State on May 29,2023, Insha Allah;

That all the newly-sworn in elected APC leaders will take off successfully and consolidate on the achievements of the APC Administrations both at State and National levels;

I also have a Dream that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu will consolidate and sustain the laudable achievements of the Buhari Administration in infrastructure development, economic empowerment, fight against terrorism, kidnapping and banditry as well sustenance of democracy and the rule of law, among others.

For Kano State, the Dream is that Gawauna will begin governance on a sound footing, consolidating on the progressive policies and programmes of the Ganduje Administration such as infrastructure development,free and compulsory basic and secondary education,improved health care, peace and security,youth and women economic empowerment,rural transformation and water supply.

This Dream is endless just as the capacity of the leaders elected on the platform of the APC is unlimited.The Dream, therefore, will continue to flourish as the APC Governments continue to comprehensively transform the Nigerian nation.

Lastly, I have a Dream – that Nigeria will one day rise from its myriad of challenges to become a stronger, peaceful, united and prosperous nation where every citizen will be happy. I pray to Allah that my multifaceted Dream come true.
