…Hails Command’s PPRO For Receiving IGP’s Commendation

Kano state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mamman Dauda has seeked the cooperation of the state Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Bar. Musa Abdullahi Lawan, in the speedy prosecution of criminal cases in the state.
The 44th Kano State Commissioner of Police made the appeal when he paid ä familiarization visit to the Attorney-General’s office on Monday.
The Police boss expressed his desire and commitment to fighting crime and criminal activities in the state.
CP Dauda said: “I am here to introduce myself as the 44th Commissioner of Police of Kano State Command and having realized the importance of the Judiciary in the fight against crimes and criminality.
“And as our immediate neighbour in the administration of criminal justice system, I deem it necessary to pay you a courtesy visit to appreciate you for the assistance, cooperation, understanding and seek for more collaboration.
“When I assumed duty as Kano State Commissioner of Police, I met a good structure of policing which we plan to improve.
“We need your cooperation to succeed in the prosecution of criminal cases. If we come together and work closely, we will understand ourselves more.
“The 2023 General Election is fast approaching and we need your support to ensure peaceful processes. We are 100% ready to work with you to sanitize the general public.
“And, we are very much ready to help you to succeed. We need your total support to achieve a more secure environment.”
In his response, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Bar. Lawan said: “The Commissioner of Police, you are lucky to have a very powerful team as your subordinate. You are highly welcome to the Ministry of Justice Kano State.
“With your vast experience in policing, Kano state is lucky to have you as Commissioner of Police. We have a cordial relationship with the Police and we will continue to work with you as a team. We will give you 100% support to succeed.
“I have been working with Police and they deserve all sort of commendations. We will always cooperate with the Police and continue with the existing cordial relationship.”
Meanwhile, CP Dauda has hailed the Command’s spokesman, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa for meriting and receiving the commendation of the Inspektor General of Police who honoured him in Ibadan last week for his outstanding performance as the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in charge of Kano state Police Command.
CP Dauda showered praises on SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, on Monday, during ä meeting with Heads of Departments (HODs), Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Tactical Commanders and other senior Police Officers of the command, at the Police Officers’Mess in Bompai.
He, however, appreciated the Senior Officers of the Command for their efforts in crime fighting and charged them to sustain the tempo in ensuring a peaceful atmosphere in the state.
He directed Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers to continue with community policing engagements, visibility policing, intelligence-led policing, raids of criminal hideouts and black spots, shun all forms of corruption, be civil, respect human rights, Rule of Law and work according to the ethics of the Nigeria Police Force.
He charged officers to continue to be firm, professional and resolute in discharging their duties as much as expected from them.
