Kebbi Police Command has affirms commitment to fight banditry, kidnapping and others related security challenges in the State. 

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Nafiu Abubakar confirmed this in a Statement issued to journalists on Thursday in Birnin Kebbi .

According to the statement,  Commissioner of Police (CP)Ahmad Magaji Kontagora said it was an effort to rid Kebbi State of kidnapping, banditry and other related security challenges.

The statement stated that  Kontagora had on 9th and 10 th January, 2023, visited Zuru emirate for an on the spot assessment of  the security architecture  of the area. During the visit, the CP met with the critical stakeholders from Bena, Kanya and Waje, where bandits’ routes and other related banditry challenges as well as ways on how to proffer laudable solutions to those challenges were discussed.

In the same vain,  the Cvisited the Government Girls Science College, Ribah, where deployment of security personnel was reviewed. Briefing was also received from the Principal of the College, Hajia Maryam Namadi and her management team.

Similarly, the CP however, paid a courtesy visit to the Commanding Officer, 223 Battalion, Zuru,  Lt. Col. M. Iliya, where he solicited his support and cooperation in ensuring provision of adequate Security for socio-economic development and well being of not only the inhabitants of the area, but Kebbi State in general.

In his responsed according to the statement, commanding Officer, 223 Battalion, Zuru, Lt. Col. M. Iliya appreciated the CP for finding time to visit him and promised to work hand in hand with the Police, and other security agencies operating in the area.
