Kano State Governor, Dr.
Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has commisserated with the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Alkali Usman Baba over the inferno that devastated Kano Police Headquarters on Sunday.
Ganduje, represented by his Deputy, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, visited the scene of the incident at the Bompai Police Headquarters.
He expressed sadness, and prayed to God to replenish.
Ganduje said: “We were shocked when we received the sad news of the fire disaster,therefore we are here to commisserate with you on behalf of the Government and People of Kano State”.
“We are calling that preventive measures should be put in place to prevent feature occurrence of the incident.”
Pained over that incident, the State Commissioner of Police, Mamman Dauda, said he was in the office when the fire broke out, “we are investigating the cause of the fire incident, but we thank God that no life was lost.”
Dauda, however, thanked Ganduje for the visit which he said, demonstrated the concern for himself, and the State Government.

Though the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Police, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, could not pick his calls as at the time of filling this report, an impeccable source confirmed the fire outbreak, which razed offices at the top floor, including the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) office.
The source said the fire-fighters took over two hours to answer to the distress call, as the fire spread razing down high-profile offices, including the Finance Office.
The office of the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mamman Dauda, was not touched by the fire, the source said.
