Kano Police Commissioner Trains Constables On Election Security

Ahead of the February and March general elections, Kano State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mamman Dauda, has organized election security training for 574 newly passed out police constables posted to the Command.

The police constables who are all indigene of Kano State are to be reposted to their various Local Government Areas of origin.

CP Dauda charged the police constables to be committed in discharging their lawful duties as they are posted back to their Local Government Areas of origin to enhance community policing.

The Pooice constables were tutored on various topics which include: Basic Counter Duties, Role of the Police at Polling Units and Election Day Offences by CSP Usman Abdullahi Kamba, Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Mandawari Division Kano, Procedures for the Use of Force (especially baton) and Safety Measures at Polling Units by SP Nasiru Haruna Gusau, Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Gwagwarwa Division Kano.

Other topics include: Right Abuses from the Lens of the Police and Relationship between Police Officers and members of the public during Election by SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, Kano State Command Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Inter-Agency Collaboration during Election Period by SP Abdulrahim Adamu, Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Sharada Division Kano.

At the end of the training, CP Mamman Dauda, appreciated the presenters and charged the newly passed out constables to be firm, steadfast in crime fighting, shun all forms of corruption and apply the knowledge received in discharging their duties effectively.

He wished them a successful career in the Nigeria Police Force.
