From Maduabuchi Nmeribeh, Kano
The All Progressive Congress (APC) and the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) are struggling for highest number of votes in about 19 Local Government Areas so far announced by the Independent National Electoral Electoral Commission (INEC) as at the time of filling this report.
The AUTHORITY reports that there were also confirmation of cancellation of results in a number of polling units across the state largely due to over-voting and pockets of violence.
However, APC agent, Alhaji Rabi’u Suleiman Bichi contested against the results in Dambatta Local Government Area, describing the results as incorrect.
According to him, APC was short-changed with about 2000 votes.
Also, Kabiru Gwarzo of NNPP also complained about results from Makoda and Dambatta Local Government Areas, insisting that the B-VAS machine was not used.
INEC Collation Officer for Kano, Prof. Lawal, Suleiman Bilbis, Vice Chancellor of Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto, said INEC will check the B-VAS and ensure that the needful would be done.
As at the time of filling this report, collation of results are still on-going at INEC office, Kano.
Kano remain calm and peaceful as residents move about their normal businesses.
However, there are indications that the total results for Kano may not be ready till Monday.
