The Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Marshal has begged the council chairman, Hon. Christopher Maikalangu to fast track measures that will give the security outfit independence.
AMAC Marshal General, Kashim Karshi in an interaction with some Journalists, said the independence would allow it to be able to pay its own salaries and also pay the Council, as well as employ more youths, thereby taking them off the street.
Karshi commended the chairman for paying of the several
Months arrears and renewal of the Marshal’s operating license for 2023, to enable it operate.
“I appreciate the effort of the new AMAC Chairman, Hon. Christopher Maikalangu for paying AMAC Marshal three months out of the several months we are owed. I also want to call his attention and other AMAC stakeholders to see AMAC Marshal as AMAC project. It is non-religious, non-tribal and non-political. After service, we are now home to take responsibility of our communities security wise,” he said.
Recalled that the security organisation, during its initial stage, performed creditably well in curbing insecurity in the council, but lamented that lack of welfare for the officers became a major challenge during past administrations.

Karish appealed for the strengthening of the security outfit to improve on the provision of security services in the area council.
The Marshal General revealed that his organization usually assist the conventional security agencies, including the Police, Department of State Security (DSS) and Military in controlling criminal activities in the Council.
AMAC Marshal was formed in June 2016 by the former AMAC chairman Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Candido to tackle insecurity in the councillors.
