A new socio political pressure group in the South East zone of the country named’ Obedient Family’, has explained that the term ‘Obedient Movement’ is not tagged or limited to any political party but a mechanism to define and determine the character, competence and credibility of the political actors,who want to be elected and entrusted with peoples mandate in the next political dispensation.
The Group gave this hints in Enugu yesterday in evening.March 15, after their road walk across many streets in the metropolis, sensitising the residents on the imperatives to exercise their franchise on Saturday, March 18, governorship and house of assembly elections.
The leader of the group, Prof. Mike Okwudili, stressed that they are non political group but found it worthy to canvass and convince the electorates not to vote along party line but to vote for the candidate based on their antecedents with proven record of integrity and competence.
He said the Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah posseses the above defined features more than every other candidate in the Enugu state 2023.
He explained that though the concept emanated and initiated behind Mr Peter Obi, the Labour party presidential candidate, but it did not end with the conduct of the Presidential and National elections.
His words, “The Obedient Movement’ is a revolution to enthrone people with proven character, competence, and credibility to take over the political leadership of our country. for a new Nigeria.
“We are here to canvass support and endorse Dr Peter Mbah, the Enugu state PDP governorship candidate to be elected as next governor of the state. He is the best among others who posseses the character, competence and credibility to explore the economic potentials of Enugu state. His track record of success in the private sector is unparralled. we give it to him”.
In corroboration, the coordinator of the group,Mr Okechuwu Nwokoye,stressed the Obedient Movement is steering a revolution that would solve the problem of leadership in Nigeria.
He said Dr Peter Mbah is the best for Enugu state and by extension the entire South East zone,on the basis that Enugu remains the capital of the South East zone.
Nwokoye stated,”Dr Peter Mbah’s pedigree. integrity,competence, gives him an edge above others.
He continued,”Dr Mbah is vigorous, he has capacity. With him at the helm of affairs, Enugu state will witness new pace of economic development”.
In his own speech, the chairman, Tricycle Ownes Association of Nigeria, Enugu state chapter, Comrade Joshua Nwafor, stressed that the endorsement of Dr Peter Mbah stems on the fact that he is the most credible,possesing the capacity and quality which will turn Enugu the state of our dream.
Comrade Nwafor stated,” I believe in him based on what he has done.His achievements gave me the courage and boldness to endorse him”.
The chairman,’Hausa Keke riders association in Enugu state,Hon Sanusi Idris,spoke in same direction.
Comrade Ike Emmanuel stated,”We are not talking about party, we are here to support somebody with the capacity,competent and character to lead. Dr Peter Mbah will reshape Enugu state economy”, he stated.
A fortnight ago, a national activist, Comrade Sunday Iyere, led another socio pressure group to canvass and endorse Dr Peter Mbah as the best product of Obi Movement who can turn around the economy of Enugu state,based on his antecedents, character and competence, comparative to that of Mr Peter Obi.
