Peter Obi expresses optimism over presidency

From Ifeoma Ejiofor, Awka

The Labour Party Presidential Candidate in the recently concluded 2023 general elections, Mr. Peter Obi, has expressed optimism of becoming president of Nigeria.

Mr Obi said he is neither in a hurry or desperate to actualize his mandate, adding that he must get it through the on-going court process.

Obi stated this during a Public Presentation of the Book, “PETER Obi: MANY VOICE, ONE PERSPECTIVE” held in Awka, on Friday.
He said “I will be the president of Nigeria in a peaceful manner and not by violence. I will respect the court decision. What I know is that I will get to my destination. I am not in transit. I am out to be the president of Nigeria.

“I contested the presidential election to adress the ugly economic situation of the country with out any fund raising. One day, what is happening in Nigeria would consume us. It is good for us as Nigerians to do the right thing.

“My dream of a new Nigeria will be achieved with out any rioting, Obi added.

Earlier, Lead Editor of the book, Prof. Chinyere Stella Okunna explained that the book captured everything about the Labour Party’s presidential candidate.

“We are not saying that Peter Obi is a saint. But he stands out in integrity. Nigeria is richly blessed if this man becomes president.
“Whatever we realize here will be channelled into the on-going litigation. I am hopeful that the litigation will end well; and the truth will come out”.

The book presentation attracted traditional rulers, politicians and captains of industries.
