Fuel scarcity hits Ebonyi as filling stations remain closed 

*A iitre of PMS sells N500 to N600

As a result of the removal of fuel subsidy by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu Monday, Abakaliki the capital city of Ebonyi state, witnessed unprecedented shut down of filling stations

The few that opened for business, sells the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) used mainly by vehicles for between N500 and N600 per liter.

When The AUTHORITY visited most filling stations in Abakaliki, several cars, keke and motorcycles were seen in a terribly long queue to purchase PMS as just a few filling stations like Tycoon, Sharfa, Joak and just afew other stations opened for business in the entire state capital.

While others like NNPC, Conoil, Jesco, Braze oil, Hariz fuel stations, among others didn’t open for business.

In an interview with some motorcyclists like Nwamgbo Emmanuel, Innocent Anyigor, among others who came to buy fuel all lamented bitterly over the sudden increase in fuel pump price, saying that the situation has brought untold hardship to the people as cost of fuel, foodstuffs and other commodities have risen beyond the level of a common man.

They therefore, called on government to take urgent steps to address the situation since people are passing through difficult times.
