Ebonyi State government has warned against the manual payment of taxes,Levies, fine, among others, stating that all Revenues of Ebonyi State Government must be paid through an automated system wherein the payer gets an automatic receipt instantly or through the consolidated IGR account.
This is contained in a press release issued by the Acting Chairman, Ebonyi State Board of Internal Revenue Service (EBSIRS),Hon.Nweze Agwu Igwe.
Hon.Igwe noted that Government is not liable for any lose of fund made by hand or personal account.
`This is to bring to the knowledge of the general public that there is no manual payment of taxes, fees, levies and fines in Ebonyi State. All Revenues of Ebonyi State Government are paid through an automated system wherein the Payer gets an automatic receipt or paid into our Consolidated IGR Accounts. Any payment made to anyone by hand or through any personal Account is a free gift given to the person by the payer as the Government is not liable for such loss.
He further stated that anyone who carried out land transactions like C of O,Land Registration Documents, Building Registrations,etc should ensure he or she did not make payments with physical cash rather pay with TIN at the Office of Ebonyi State Internal Revenue Service, Staff Development Centre,Kpirikpiri, Abakaliki.
`Anyone who processes C of O, Land Registration Documents(Power of Attorney, Deeds of assignment, Deeds of Mortgage, etc), Contract bidding in UBEB or any other ministries including Building Registrations, etc should ensure that he/she does not give anyone physical cash rather pay with your TIN at the Office of Ebonyi State Internal Revenue Service, Staff Development Centre, Kpirikpiri , Abakaliki or at the comfort of your location using irs.ebsgov.org/pay-tax
`Be also informed that any Agent of Ebonyi State Internal Revenue Service collecting an IGR for the State MUST provide an Authority letter from the Service authorizing him to do so for anyone caught collecting any IGR without the relevant Authority letter will face the wrath of the law.
