The 6 Division Nigerian Army has embarked on a sensitization public speaking engagement to Army Day Secondary School.
This is part of activities marking the 2023 Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL).
The Public Speaking Engagement, which featured awareness, talks on the dangers of drug or substance abuse and the ills of cultism. Also sensitized the students on career opportunities in the Nigerian Army.
Speaking at the event, the Director 6 Division Education Service, Brigadier General Emmanuel Echebuiwe described the dangers posed by drug abuse and cultism as twin evils capable of truncating the future of the students. He urged them to stay away from and report anyone involved in these vices for help and assistance to be rendered to such individuals describing the habits as difficult to break.
Also speaking at the event, the Commandant, Command secondary school Port Harcourt Lieutenant Colonel Adewale Azeez described the Nigerian Army as a complete institution that presents equal opportunities for all to find adequate expression. He enumerated the entry requirements and urged the students with proper guidance to consider career opportunities in the Nigerian Army.
He described the Nigerian Army as one of the institutions described with the appellation of noble and eulogized it for it’s sacrifice which keeps the nation united. Lieutenant Colonel Azzez enumerated the many civil military cooperation projects the army is engaged in and how they touch lives and meet the needs of the citizenry
The highlight of the event was the exposure to the students of the video documentary, drill display, and a highly interactive session with the students.
