Taraba : Schools Management Board reiterates commitment to implement free policy in education

Sequel to the declaration of free education for primary and secondary schools in Taraba state by Gov. Agbu Kefas, the authority of post primary schools management board has confirmed its readiness to implement the policy without further delay.

The executive secretary Dan-azumi Navoki Hassan who confirmed this while speaking with our correspondent in Jalingo shortly after inaugurated a seven-man committee said the governor’s declaration of state of emergency on education and subsequent pronouncement of free education in the state was appreciable.
He explained that the committee was put in place to provide a road map for the board to succeed in implementing the free education in the state.

Danazumi Hassan who tasked members of the committee to ensure workable recommendation that will assist the board in implementing a free education policy urge them to be resolute as Gov. Kefas will not tolerate failure on the part of education.
The executive secretary disclosed that the composition of the committee are men with proving integrity and merits, saddled with responsibility of moving education forward and ensure making the governor’s policy on education a dream come true.

Those inaugurated are Mr. Dauda Idris Balasa chairman, Atiku Ibrahim, Isaac Andrias, Daniel Khinya, Musa Dan-gana, Elsie Yarutu and Henry Peter as members while Bakari Umar Bello as the sectary.
However, it will be recalled that the state governor Dr. Agbu Kefas a fourth-night ago during unscheduled visit to some primary and secondary schools in Wukari local government area(his country home) declared free education in the state starting from September academic session.

In addition the governor also announced the reduction of 50% slash (reduction) from the state university tuition fee for students.
He assured the students and pupils of quality education standard, nothing that his administration will ensure the provision of a conducive environment for them to learn.
